Dear Current You,

Christianity has been viewed in many ways within society. Now, although I don't know your perception, I would like to give a glimpse into what happened on my journey recently. The poem below is a transparent one about what it is like on the walk of Faith sometimes.

Christianity is both freedom and fighting to maintain that said freedom through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is a walk worthy of embarking on, worthy of sweating from, and worthy of continuing. Why? Because God set us free from a life style and mindset that was away from him, Our Creator and King. He did this by forgiving us through his Son. His Son, Jesus Christ, took our punishment of death upon himself so we wouldn't experience it. Then, rose from the grave on the third day to show victory over what once held us bound and granting us the freedom mentioned earlier through his blood.

This is the core of Christianity. If you believe this is true and are willing to turn from your current way of life for God's, then say this prayer out loud:

"Lord, I believe you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to live, die, and rise from the grave on the 3rd day for my freedom. I accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and I wish to live for you. Holy Spirit, come into my heart; God, help me follow this path leading to you. Help me to get to know who you are as King and who I am as your child and creation. I surrender to you. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen."

If you prayed this, Congratulations!

Please download the Bible App and start to know who God is, as well as who you are in him (I recommend starting in John). Also, look for a church that you are comfortable in that is Biblically centered so that you don't do this journey alone.

You got this!

Sincerely,

The Free You

Title: The Escape

------------ had enveloped me;

Now, its seal has been broken.

My bones trembled as I emerged,

but voice was not stolen.

I spoke the light of hope,

tearing the fiber of disparity woven.

My retinas saw beams;

look, joy is unfolding!

These shoulders yearned for backwards,

the past was calling.

I danced with thoughts of maybe;

my progress I began stalling.

----------- gave false security, like always;

What if that's more comfortable than where this path leads?

Then, I remember it was God,

He was the one who set me free.

He broke the seal.

By him I was seen.

This road might be one where I can't clearly see,

but I'll walk by faith and not sight as he guides me.
